Onryo lore

Those who were badly wronged sometimes remain too restless for the afterlife, lingering in Izumo as dreadful ghosts. Their need for vengeance burns away who they once were, and often drives an onryo to harm the innocent, or even spawn disasters, in pursuit of its goals. The flow of aether throughout Ryven has made onryo far more common than they once were.
