The terrible Red Dragon is the fiercest protector Avalon has—and a last resort nobody wants to invoke. When roused to the realm’s defense, Y Ddraig Goch devastates surrounding lands, armies, and communities, and though the bulk of it is inflicted on the enemy, swathes of Avalon also suffer. It seems to wreak such destruction deliberately, as though demanding a sacrifice for its aid.
