Update 0.62 went live on October 23. The headline is the second Clan Boss, Sedula, the Abyssal Tyrant, who drops Playbooks to upgrade your Tactics and the new Spellwall Relic set. It also adds Hard difficulty to the Spires (live November 1), four new Legendary Invokers and a balance pass that touches over 50 Invokers and a handful of Titans.

Sedula, the Abyssal Tyrant

Sedula unlocks at Player Level 20 and needs a Clan. Instead of stages she has four difficulties (Normal, Hard, Insane, Nightmare), and beating one unlocks the next. You get one Abyssal Key per day instead of spending Energy, then up to 5 replays to improve your damage. The first replay is free, the rest cost Gems, and your best run of the day is what counts for your Clan.

  • She changes Element every day: Monday Water, Tuesday Fire, Wednesday Light, Thursday Earth, Friday Wind, Saturday Dark, Sunday Neutral.
  • She has no Corruptions, so you don't need to balance Tolerances. Gear for pure damage.
  • You can't actually win: she keeps fighting at 0 HP and always destroys your Ship in the end. The fight is a damage race.
  • You must reach the first milestone on the Personal Damage Chest track to get any rewards, and you need to claim yesterday's chest before fighting today.

Rewards

  • Damage Chest (your own damage, every day): 2 Spellwall Relics, 1 Playbook and 1 Codex guaranteed, plus one random drop (a Divine, Destiny or Radiant Star, a 3 to 5 star Echo, Memorium or Multi-Battle Tokens).
  • Pearl (only if your Clan defeats her on a difficulty you contributed to): a Rare, Epic or Legendary Prism guaranteed, plus one random drop (an Orb, a 3 to 5 star Dragonsoul, Memorium or a Titan Spark).
  • Spellwall set: 3 pieces give 2-Stack Willpower and a 2-Stack Immunity buff for 12s at Battle Start, 5 pieces give +10% HP, ATK and DEF.
  • A new Clan Quest gives 500 Memorium for finishing one Sedula battle.

Tactics Upgrades

Playbooks (Standard, Heroic and Historic) plus Gold level a Tactic from 1 to 20, raising the stat boosts every Invoker slotted into it gets. Right now Sedula is the only source.

Hard Spires and Spire Leaderboards

Every Spire Floor gets a Hard version, 720 new Floors, unlocking at Player Level 20. It goes live on November 1, when the Spires reset, so nobody gets a head start mid-month. Hard starts at roughly Normal Floor 60 difficulty. You can switch difficulty floor by floor, but a cleared Floor can't be redone on the other difficulty.

  • Hard gives the same rewards plus extra VIP Points. Floor 70 gives an Epic Prism instead of a Rare one, and Floor 105 adds 130,000 Gold.
  • New monthly Leaderboards score each Spire and all six combined: Floor number × difficulty × Spire type, with Light and Dark worth more. Ties go to the faster clear.
  • Normal Floors 91 to 120 were made harder to account for Tactics, Accessories and the Trophy Room.

Four New Legendary Invokers

Lucentia, one of two new Lightseekers
Lucentia, one of two new Lightseekers
  • Cataphrax the Grave: Legendary, Earth, Nocturna, Melee Attacker. AoE skills that slow Move and Combo SPD, and an Ultimate that heals him for 70% of the damage it deals.
  • Lucentia: Legendary, Wind, Lightseekers, Ranged Attacker. A single-target debuffer: 100% Heal Reduction, 50% ATK Down, and an Ultimate that extends up to 4 debuffs by 5s per hit.
  • Kris the Quill: Legendary, Light, Lightseekers, Ranged Attacker. Disable, an AoE that removes up to 6 buffs, and an Ultimate that steals 5 buffs.
  • Giiya the Peddler: Legendary, Wind, Cambion, Support. Team cleanse plus Shield, and an Ultimate that revives the strongest fallen ally at 50% HP and cuts every ally's skill cooldowns by 8s.

On the game's own Sedula tier list, Kris the Quill and Giiya the Peddler are already S+, with Lucentia and Cataphrax the Grave at S.

The Rebalance: What Stands Out

Most of the list is target counts brought in line with rarity (Legendaries hit 10, Epics 9, Rares 8) and bug fixes. These are the changes that matter most:

Damage caps enforced (nerfs)

  • Sabi: her Ultimate's Bleed drops from 3% to 0.75%, and its per-tick cap from 500% to 200%.
  • MOLDAK: Ultimate now places a flat 1% Bleed for 8s per hit, and his per-tick Bleed cap drops from 400% to 200%.
  • Brandis: Skill 1 Burn cap lowered from 500% to 200%.
  • Raziel: his Ultimate was dealing its base damage twice. It now deals it once, but counts every 10% of lost HP for bonus damage at all levels.
  • Misuke: Skill 3's bonus Crit Rate and Crit DMG is now capped (20% at Level 1, +4% per buff).

Ultimates that had no cooldown

Lektrine the Storm Witch, Ravizia, Volgang and Ranme the Cloudshrike had no Ultimate cooldown from Level 4, and Ulsos the Dark Star from Level 1. All now have 15 seconds.

Bug fixes that are big buffs

  • Rynn: Skill 2 was hitting for about half its multiplier. It now hits for the full 545% ATK.
  • Willbreaker Vixara: Skill 3 against targets with no debuffs now deals 251% ATK instead of 2.51%.
  • Gurgos Ironchain: his Skill 1 Ultimate Mana was going to the enemy, and his Ultimate's Boss shockwave (10 enemies, 50% DEF Down) never fired. Both work now.
  • Dosoji and Bowrai: Combo Attack 5 only hit 1 enemy. It now hits 8.
  • Anarose, Arissa and Prisella the Bloodmoon: their heals now restore the amounts written in their skills.
  • Tenso the Fixer: per-hit Ultimate damage drops from 245% to 81.5% ATK, but its damage cap rises from 50% to 150% and it hits 9 enemies instead of 8.

Battle rule changes

  • Skills that increase an enemy's cooldowns now go through an ACC vs RES check, like debuffs.
  • A resisted buff removal no longer counts as a removal for skills that reward removing buffs.
  • Push, Pull and Launch now interrupt dashes, and don't apply to an Invoker under a Control Corruption.
  • Bosses now Enrage after about 5 minutes (Yskara at 4:30), gaining ATK every 30 seconds. The devs say 99.5% of fights end before 4 minutes.
  • Titans: Cindrake's Skill 2 was reworked into a single AoE hit with a 2s Stun, and several Titans had Burn caps, heals and cooldowns fixed.

Also New

  • Titan Quick Ascend, working the same way as Invoker Quick Ascend.
  • More Wild Stars: first clears of Campaign, Boss Mode and Sorgott stages now give extra Wild Stars, Campaign bonus drops can no longer roll nothing, and two Daily Quests and one Clan Quest give more.
  • Chat reactions (14 emojis) and quotes in Global and Clan chat.
  • Auto-Equip now lets you rank up to 5 stats to prioritize.
  • Check the Shop for the version gift, which includes Playbooks. The audio fix reached iOS on October 24, so all platforms are on the same version again.

Frightfest Is Live Until November 1

The Halloween event started on October 26: three score-attack modes (Day 1 Haunted Hedgemaze, Day 2 Moonbeam Madness, Day 3 Cauldron Carnival), then repeating on Days 4 to 6. Each entry costs a Moon Token, not Energy. Rewards come from Daily Leaderboards, an overall Event Leaderboard and a Personal Reward track, and include Bulwark Relics and the Pumpkins needed for the Grimnall Chase. On October 26 the devs also put a free pack of 10 extra Moon Tickets in the Shop, available until 22:59 UTC that day.

The devs are working on a client update to fix loading issues when fighting Sedula.
