Camazotz lore

The “bat of death” is an agent of Omeyocan’s underworld gods, carrying their words and performing their tasks in the lands of the living. As such, he frequently appears not only throughout Omeyocan but in other realms as well—especially lately, as he has entered into some manner of scheme with the dreaded Count Dracula of Vyraj.
