Shub-Lugal lore

These servants of ruler, nobles, and temples of Ekur perform a variety of duties, but one of the most important is that of “king’s guard.” They are household soldiers answering directly to the lord of their house or institution. All are ultimately at the disposal of the king himself, and indeed these soldiers form the core of armies such as Sargon’s.
