Raven

Uniting former Titans Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, and Beast Boy, Raven added Cyborg and Starfire, whom the Titans saved from pursuing aliens. The team did defeat Trigon and confined him in an inter-dimensional prison. Even so, Raven had to remain vigilant against his dark influence. In several high-stress situations, she nearly lost control of herself to Trigon. Eventually, Trigon escaped his prison and came to Earth, where he subtly infiltrated Raven's mind over months, finally fully possessing her. Trigon's demon army invaded and destroyed Azarath and nearly conquered Earth while Raven was possessed by Trigon. With no other choice, the Titans had to kill Raven so the souls of Azarath could enter her body and destroy Trigon. Raven rose from the ashes, cleansed of Trigon's evil, then vanished.

Raven was captured by acolytes of the super-powered cult leader Brother Blood. The Church of Blood used her in a plot to resurrect Brother Blood, who then used her to amplify his emotion-manipulating powers and cause a worldwide uprising of his believers. As Blood poured more power into Raven, she became strong enough to regain her mind and easily defeated him, who was spirited away by loyalists. Finally her own person, Raven was free to fully experience her emotions, which would prove to be its own challenge. When she thought she might be in love with Nightwing, Raven unintentionally made him kiss her, although he loved Starfire. Raven only later realized what she'd done and apologized. Starfire understood and helped Raven learn how to feel her emotions without manipulating others.

Later, Raven was possessed by evil souls under the control of Trigon, and she changed not just mentally but physically to resemble her father. Her mother Arella and young telepath Danny Chase sacrificed their lives to repel Trigon, but Raven's body was destroyed in the battle. Some time after, it appeared that Raven had returned, still evil, to disrupt Nightwing and Starfire's wedding, but what actually happened was her soul split into two, and the good side took refuge in Starfire. The Titans ultimately destroyed the evil Raven, and her good side emerged with a new, golden spirit body free of Trigon's influence. In that form, she helped defeat the cosmic threat of Imperiex.

Unfortunately, Raven's spirit was later captured by a resurrected Brother Blood, who revealed that he and his church worshiped her father, Trigon. They created a new body for Raven from the willing sacrifices of the Church of Blood's disciples and tried to fulfill an apocalyptic prophecy by marrying Brother Blood to a mind-controlled Raven. The Titans disrupted the ceremony and rescued Raven. With a new, younger body, Raven embraced her new start and enrolled in high school to get the education she'd never had as Rachel Roth, honoring her mother by using her surname. She rejoined the Titans and, over time, she and Beast Boy formed a romantic relationship, but they broke up when the original Doom Patrol returned, and he felt he should return to his adoptive parents' team.

Some time later, Raven learned that Trigon had other children when three of them attacked the Titans by artificially manipulating their emotions and then feeding off them. Raven's half-brothers used her and Beast Boy to open a portal to Trigon's realm. She used her own emotion manipulating powers to increase their greed, making them attack the still-weakened Trigon, steal what little power he had, and seal him in his dimension, powerless. Raven joined her brothers for a while, afraid to be around normal people, but the Titans convinced her to return. She agreed, but only after giving her teammates artifacts powerful enough to destroy her if she lost control. She remains constantly on guard against her father's evil legacy.
